Mandala Collages

This series of moving mandalas were created using collage clippings and then animating them in Adobe After Effects. I chose the title ‘Mandalas’ initially because of their circular, wheel-like forms. But I also liked the spiritual connotations of the word, because I thought of these as alien, mystical beings floating and swirling. A mandala as seen in buddhism is a visual representation of the universe, and the act of creating it is meant to focus the creator’s thoughts and assist with meditation.
